HIS Ministry Journal 10-15-06

Hey Richard!! I just wanted to give you and the rest of the Oaks team a summary of last weekends outreach at the Marietta Square and talk about a potential upcoming event that could be a fantastic way to sow seed.

H.I.S. Ministry hit the streets of Marietta, Ga. on Sunday, October 15, 2006 and the MIGHTY WARRIORS that went were April Sawyer, Amie Merrill, Deanna Evans, Steve Merrill, And Dave Evans.

April, Dave, and Steve were handling the outreach and Amie and Deanna were interceding for the team. Immediately, we met three homeless men (Ed, Robert, and Carnell) who were gathered together on a couple of benches. We talked with them and realized that we had talked with them before! We then had an opportunity to read The WORD out loud to them and provide sandwich lunches that we had put together prior to arriving at Marietta Square. We prayed with them, we loved on them, we hugged them, and when we got ready to leave they all told us they Loved us!

After we were released from the Marietta Square the team went into the nearby projects where we ran into a couple of guys. One's name was Dominic ( an 8th grader who played wide receiver for his football team and was bigger than Steve and Dave!) and another gentleman who did not stick around long. April and Steve were really able to minister to Dominic by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him. After speaking with Dominic for a few minutes we left the projects and went back to the Marietta Square where we called it a day.
