HIS Ministry Journal 09-24-06

Last Sunday September 24, 2006...The team (April Sawyer, Steve Merrill and Dave Evans) went to Marietta Square to do a little outreach. We had a specific Word that we thought the Lord was sharing with us and that was the people we needed to speak to would be attracted to us like bugs would be to a bug light.

The first person came exactly as the Lord had told us and came up to me (Dave Evans) and started up a conversation. After speaking with Frank for a little while about the Gospel and after realizing that Frank was homeless, Steve Merrill decided to make him a sandwich. We then read John 1:1-18 out loud (because we know that God's WORD does not return Void) and prayed for Frank. Frank directed us to the Public Library where he said that the some of the Homeless people go when it has been raining outside (It had been raining that day but had cleared up prior to the team arriving). After walking through the library and around the projects area we decided to go back to Marietta Square. When we arrived back we noticed several homeless people that we had met there previously!! We prayed with them and made sandwiches for them (GREAT idea STEVE!!) , and also read the WORD out loud to each and every one of them.

After we had done that the team had decided that we felt like we had accomplished what the Lord had set out to do that day and we called it a day.
